50 Gen X Bloggers/50 States Continued

My search for 50 Generation X Bloggers from all 50 states continues every day. I am literally plowing through hundreds of blogs to find decent content. This is exhausting. I thought it would be easier than this. After visiting so many crummy blogs, I’ve realized a few things that make blogs fantastic.

1) Update often
2) Post amazing pictures
3) Be selective with the advertising. All those ads are extremely annoying.
4) Did I mention how annoying heavy advertising is?
5) Clean layout and design are almost on par with rich content.
6) Content is king, though. It must be interesting, intelligent and honest.

FOUR NEW GENERATION X BLOGGERS

The blogger I picked from New York is the name behind “Our Name Is Mud” pottery. She is very funny, and I love her pottery. The name of her blog is Our Name Is Blog.

The blogger I found in Vermont has such a compelling blog name, I was glad when I figured out she is a member of Generation X. Her blog is full of great content and the name is just terrific: The Last House in America.

The California pick is a blogger who is the mother of four beautiful girls and has been married a long time. She is also Jewish and lives near the beach. You don’t have to read very deep into her blog to realize that she is both kind and smart. The name of her blog is Four Angels Momma.

Finally, the blogger from Pennsylvania (pictured left) was an easy choice! Deesha Philyaw is her name and she has a degree in economics from Yale. She is a single mom, and an amazing writer. I first discovered Philyaw because she is the reason I bought Bitch Magazine. She wrote an article about why there is an absence of Black mommy memoirs. The name of Philyaw’s blog is Mamalicious. I’ve also caught up with Philyaw on Facebook.

Yikes! I'll be 37 next month. ;-)

But seriously...thanks for including me!

Also, my Bitch article was about the dearth of black-penned "Mommy Memoirs", but the wonderful accompanying sidebar about Mommy Bloggers was written by Veronica at VivaLaFeminista:

I usually silently blog stalk people I don't know but I thought yours was so great I'd show some appreciation! My name is Jen as well but I'm a little after GenX...I'm a 1986-er.
