land of the lost and obscure generation x references

From 1974 to 1976, my family lived in Colorado Springs, and what I remember about that house on London Lane was me sitting in the living room and watching Isis, The New Zoo Review and Land of the Lost, while I ate my Cap'n Crunch cereal.

Will Ferrell talks about obscure Generation X references in the film in a recent interview, which opens this week.

While doing a bit of research about this movie, I stumbled upon a funny-caustic Generation X blog, Scarred for Life: Gen X Childhood Culture Shock in Blog Form. The blog has a bizarre URL featuring the phrase "unicorn bacon." No clue, but check it out.

Did you watch Land of the Lost and will you see Ferrell's movie?

I loved watching "Land of the Lost" and all of it's drug-addled, cheesy 1970s glory. Not sure if I'll see the Will Ferrell version. Maybe I'll wait for the DVD.

Land of the Lost was one of those Saturday morning shows that I watched just to kill time until the Baseball Game of the Week came on or some of my friends would come by to play baseball at the local field. I never could understand why the sleestack were so scary. They were so slow. I thought why didn't the characters just hit them with a stick or something. It was like being afraid of a turtle, OOOOOH look out we're outrunning them. Rob
