Christmas gift ideas for generation x

Strawberry flavored Pop RocksImage via Wikipedia

Here are some Christmas gift ideas for the Gen Xer in your life.

Candy we ate as kids.
A complete list of candy-by-the-decade is available from Old Time Candy including candy as far back as the 1920 through 1989. In addition, retro candy gift boxes are available Candy.com and Candy Warehouse.

Handmade Pac Man Memorabilia
A number of Etsy sellers are offering a some really neat Pac Man stuff like bracelets, shoes, magnet sets, barrettes, clocks and hats, etc. My favorite is a scarf that sells for $150! It is so cool, though!

Roots: The Complete Collection
Roots rocked the cultural landscape of the 1970s and remains one of the most-watched television productions in history. You can purchase the four-disc 30th Anniversary Edition (1977) of Roots on Amazon for around $35.

John Hughes Films
Every Gen Xer should find a John Hughes movie under the Christmas tree this year. The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, Some Kind of Wonderful, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Just pick one. They all work.

Funny T-Shirts
Some of the T-shirts featured on Cult Classic Ts are downright horrible, but others are really funny. My favorites are "Bring Back the Rat Taill" and "The Breakfast Club," which features Tony the Tiger of Frosted Flakes; Toucan Sam of Froot Loops; Silly Rabbit of Trix and Lucky of Lucky Charms.

What else comes to mind? Don't say Barbies. I'm too old. Now, Topper Dawn Dolls, that's another thing entirely!

I think I'm the only person in America who has not seen Roots. I might have to get the dvd's and watch it.
