In the beauty of the lilies Christ born across the sea,
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me:
As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free,
While God is marching on.
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me:
As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free,
While God is marching on.

Happy Veteran's Day to all Atomic Veterans, including my father (pictured right) who will turn 80 this March. Also, special thanks to my brother who served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Iranian Hostage Crisis (tough for an 11-year-old little sister watching the news every night); my nephew BKN who most recently served in the U.S. Air Force; and my nephew Jay, who is headed to Iraq in January.I love you all and appreciate your service!
Last year, I wrote this post about my father, a Korean War-era who witnessed atomic bomb tests including Mushroom Mike. I love and miss you, Dad.
The song on my playlist is the same song I played last year on Veteran's Day - Eef Barzelay's Battle Hymn of the Republic. Barzelay is an incredible folk-rock singer. I really like his stuff.

I love that photo of your dad. God bless them all.
I went back and read your post from last year. It is a great post. I see why you are so proud of your Father.
I thank God for all our Veterans such as your Father, my Dad, Brother, and Brther in Law, and many others and present soldiers, sailors, and airmen who are keeping us safe. And like TR I especially thanks those who didn't make it back.
What a handsome man. You got to love a man in uniform! Great post, Jen.
@JIM - Yes, God bless them all.
@YOGI - Thanks for reading that post. I am so proud of him. I saw him today. He isn't getting any younger - as he always said. =)
@JENNIFER K - no kidding! Robert and I passed a motorcycle cop today. I said, "Hey, will you dress up like that for me for Halloween next year." hahahahaha. He. just. looked. at. me. hahahahahaha!
