how to have fun while everything is terrible

Have you heard about the VHS project Everything is Terrible? It had me from hello. (Ha!) A group of guys in Chicago are collecting VHS tapes and researching them to find the funniest and/or weirdest segments, which they post to You Tube.

I learned about them the other day on National Public Radio, and decided that I would help them out with their Jerry project - amassing the largest collection of VHS tapes that have existed since before leaving the factory. They claimed on the show that anyone could walk into any thrift store in any city and find a Jerry Maguire VHS tape. So, I put their claim to the test today. My mom and I visited Uptown Thrift in south Oklahoma City, and sure enough, amidst a collection of 100 or so VHS tapes was one copy of Jerry Maguire. I bought it and will mail it to these fellows.

Surrender to ridiculosity!

Ha! When I saw this title - I was sure it was going to be a post about me playing with the kids in the living room and keeping them busy while the water poured out of your bedroom ceiling!!!!!

How funny! Strange timing too. I just attended a lecture on film sound yesterday given by one of the founders of the company I work for and he used a clip form Jerry Maguire as an example of good sound engineering used to illustrate a particular method he was describing. I have not seen the movie in years and it gave me such a hankering to see it again!
