Encyclopaedias and the Dewey Decimal System: A Gen X Memoir of Research Papers

A 36-year-old Gen Xer has written a blog post memoir about college research papers. I really enjoyed reading this. Check it out! Here's an excerpt:

"I remember the anxiety of having to research a paper topic assigned to me by a professor. It meant roaming through the cabinets of index cards and asking myself, “How am I supposed to know what I’m supposed to look up?” Yes, we’d start with the last name of the person or with the topic, but that obnoxious Dewey Decimal system was pretty cut and dry – you either knew what you were looking for or you didn’t."
