There is a blog for everything including custom motorcycle news. Interestingly, one of the most popular posts I've ever written was about the Harley Davidson 48 Sportster, a motorcyle whose target rider is Generation X. I've only been a motorcycle twice in my lifetime, and that includes being on the back of my brother's mini bike as we putted up a mini mountain in Ozark, Arkansas, 1979. Does that count?
Anyway, Cyril Huze Blog, has a current post about Harley Davidson and its appeal to generations through the years including how it has continually redefined its image to appeal to aging rebels. Check it out along with the 48 comments it's received so far. Here is one of them:
This should get interesting over the next five to ten years. I am a Gen X-er and I just saw the new 48 in person after seeing the marketing blitz for it. Not that impressed, especially since my local dealer was selling it for THREE THOUSAND over sticker. They were toting it as “only a few made”, but smart buyers know that this a cheap way to test market a product. If all goes well for HD we will be flooded with sportsters that have a wide glide front end and a fat front tire in the next couple of years. I will say it again HD. New Blood, fresh ideas and lower prices HD.

I've seen Genx on a four wheeler wearing a ski cap and overcoat. It was quite impressive. I'd like to see her on a Harley wearing black leather. OOOOLALA. Rob
