White House hosts forum on workplace flexibility

"At the start of another tranformational period in American business, Andy Grove of Intel said, 'There are two kinds of businesses; those that use email and those that will.' Today, flexibility is the new email. There are employers that have it and there are those that will."

--The White House Forum on Workplace Flexibility

A lot of research has been done documenting the desires of Generations X and Y to have greater work-life balance and more workplace flexibility. Well, last week, the White House served as host for a forum on workplace flexibility. You can read all about it on theWhite House's Middle Class Task Force Blog.

Did you know Johnson & Johnson pioneered workplace flexibility?

Did you know workplace flexibility is not a "niche" mommy issue and not even an issue just for parents?

Did you know that businesses who have implemented policies enabling greater workplace flexibility have documented a correlation between those policies and greater productivity, engagement and customer service?

The President spoke at the forum and said that flexibility affects the strength of our economy, the well-being of communities and the health of families.

Thanks for bringing this back to the issues. It was all kind of getting lost in the whole "Should Dooce Have Been Invited" controversy.
