Today has been wonderful!! What a fantastic Mother’s Day! Here is a picture of the breakfast the kids and Robert fixed me this morning!
They picked the flowers from the house next door, which has been vacant for a couple of years. Ha! Here is a picture of them holding the card they made me. Don’t they all look cute with their bedhead?
We kept the kids with us during church today instead of taking them to the nursery and children’s church. Sullivan was starving and during the sermon leaned over to tell me that this was the worst day of his life! I almost couldn’t contain my laughter. Things went from bad to worse when Bridgette announced in the middle of the sermon that she had to go to the bathroom. Juliette, I am happy to report, did not have to be carried out of the sanctuary kicking and screaming. Ha!
After church, we went to Golden Corral, which is not exactly my favorite feeding trough restaurant, but hey, when you’re a mother with little kids, you make sacrifices! Sullivan’s day was much improved after pounding down chicken, pizza, two kinds of ice cream, a chocolate cupcake and chocolate brownie. On the drive home, he said, “I have a better gift for you, mom, than that balloon…it’s love!”
My gifts included a happy face balloon, which Rob and Juliette assured me was a huge improvement on the balloon Sully originally picked out for me. It said, “Congratulations, Graduate!”
So, it’s not even 2 o’clock and I’ve had the most amazing day. I am so grateful to be the mother of these three children.
I am also grateful for my mother and for all her prayers, support, and encouragement over the years. She is so amazing, and I struggle to put into words all that she means to me. I will never let her go. Happy Mother’s Day, Mom! Isn’t she beautiful!?
