OKC Zoo

Oklahoma City Zoo

We love to go to the Oklahoma City Zoo. Today, we went for Earth Day! We are so worn out and my lips are sunburned. And, we spent $100 on Fanta sodas, tokens to ride and jump on stuff, soft, salty pretzels and lunch. Ouch!

I want to be that mom that has everything packed and squared away before an adventure including cheap, healthy snacks, but it rarely works out that way. It’s more like, “Hey, let’s go to the zoo today!” And, 30 minutes later we’re walking through the entrance.

Anyway, we did have a great time. I can’t remember when the Zoo looked more beautiful. There were so many flowers in bloom and butterflies flitting everywhere. Usually, when we go to the zoo, we’re in a race to see as many animals as possible, but today was not like that. We spent most of our time in the Children’s Zoo (I have fallen in love with a goat) and around the rides and amusements.

In the spirit of Earth Day, here are some of my favorite pictures from the day.

Do you work out? Cuz it looks like you work out.

Nice socks, Juey. It’s hard to believe my gene pool produced this dare devil.

Yeah, I have to agree. It scares me to death that people cross that street by the *Racino* Hello, whatever happened to footbridges. My next photo project when I save the world from bad graffiti. haha!

We went to OKC Zoo last Fall. It is really an impressive facility. It is beautiful, not just for the animals but the settings and plants and everything. They only thing is that they need to work on their parking plan.

I cannot imagine a more fantastic to have the family spend a glorious celebration of the creatures of earth on Earth Day than the way you have pictured and narrated here, Jen!  So wonderful for your precious family!  Well worth the C note, I would say!  And I simply cannot imagine getting condiments from such huge dispensers!  Very appropriate for a Children’s Zoo concession stand, I would say!

“probably did not need to say ‘toy'” This phrase has made Monday bearable! Thanks, Le. I love the line in that song about the girl in a pale pink coat.
