Jennifer North
I discovered the other day that in 1967, actress Sharon Tate played Jennifer North in Valley of the Dolls. I previously thought Jennifer Cavilleri in Love Story was the first character to really popularize the name Jennifer.
In 1969, Sharon, who was 8 months pregnant, was murdered along with four others by followers of Charles Manson. I heard many references to this and the LaBianca murders throughout my childhood, but I never remember hearing the name Jennifer North.
