National Geographic Channel will promote its Nutopia-produced miniseries about the 1980s at SXSW festival, March 8-17, Austin, Texas.
The 80s: The Decade That Made Us will air this spring in 171 countries and 38 languages. It’s a retrospect on the music, movies, technology, pop culture and politics of the era through archival footage, re-enactments and interviews.
SXSW is a 10-day music, film and interactive festival. To complement their promotion efforts, National Geographic Channel will also present a series of 1980s-themed street teams. They’re a lead-up to a big party at Antone’s on March 10. It will feature mash-up artist Girl Talk and VJ Ian Edgar formerly Eclectic Mode.
