All these years and I never knew about Punch Crunch Cereal, a Cap’n Crunch brand by Quaker. How did I miss this?
So, I’m scrounging around Flickr for some images of vintage grocery store displays and I come across this cute beast standing next to Horatio Magellan, a.k.a. Cap’n Crunch. His name is Harry and he’s hippopotamus wearing a sailor suit. Harry S. Hippo looks like a bosun’s mate if I ever saw one. So, did you ever try Punch Crunch cereal?
According to Wikipedia, Punch Crunch was introduced by Quaker in 1973 as part of the Cap’n Crunch brand. My brother and I lived for Cap’n Crunch and Crunch Berries as kids.
