Meet me out in the street, little girl tonight.

Do you have a favorite weekend song? I love Springsteen’s Out In The Street from The River album. It’s a happy song. It makes me wish I lived near docks in a city by the ocean.
We’re gearing up for a busy weekend. Sullivan has a baseball game and Bridgette has three birthday parties to attend over the next 48 hours. (This post about a Wild Kratts birthday party I threw for my son last summer is the most popular post on this blog. I don’t know if I should be proud or cry about that.)
Juliette is having three friends over on Saturday. She’s going to practice her photography with a mini photo shoot at Harn Park. The girl loves photography more than me.
To kick the weekend off, Bridgy is having a friend over for a play date. I don’t plan enough of these, but they’re one of my mid-year resolutions. Today, we’re making bunny smoothies. They might qualify as a PF – you know – Pinterest Fail. Ha! Click here to see what they were suppose to look like.

The important thing is they tasted good. Yea! My smoothie recipe is super simple.
Three scoops (about 1 1/3 cups) low fat, sugar free vanilla ice cream or frozen yogurt
1/2 cup of frozen blueberries
1 banana cut into slices
Four ice cubes
If you have them, you can throw in five or six spinach leaves for good measure. (I cut the leaves into thin strips.)
I mix it all together in my Magic Bullet until it’s smooth.
You can substitute five or six strawberries or an orange for the blueberries to make a pink or orange-colored smoothie. When I make an orange smoothie I use 1/4 of the rind for added nutrition and flavor. It’s pretty awesome. If you want to make a spinach smoothie you can add 10-15 spinach leaves, three drops of green food coloring and a whole banana to the ice and ice cream. There are endless possibilities where smoothies are concerned. I am dying to make these rainbow smoothies.

Robert and I will wrap the weekend up on Sunday when we celebrate our wedding anniversary. We’re going to one of my favorite Oklahoma City restaurant’s, The Metro Wine Bar and Bistro.
Happy anniversary. One of my favorite weekend tunes was Guadalcanal Diary’s “Always Saturday.”
