Where did October go? It appears to have been eaten up by the shifting winds of global warming. We’ve had days when it was hot enough to go swimming!
Cruel, cruel world, how could you take away October and leave us with less than 30 days until Thanksgiving? I’m not ready to let go of this month.
If I should die let it be in October. Put pumpkins on my grave and string leaves, red and gold, around my headstone. I’ll have a headstone, right? Everyone should get one. Play a song and call it day. I have lived 47 years and am grateful for each and every one. I hope I have 47 more, but heaven is October! I’m living in heaven now.
Just look at this precious little thing? She’s sweeter than pudding and pie. I love you, Super Bridgy.
This picture was taken during the recent cheerleading clinic at Mount St. Mary High School here in Oklahoma City. I’m still not sure about cheerleading. What’s it all about? I think I’m afraid to say sometimes. That reminds me. Check out this blog post, Are You Looking At Me? It’s about beauty and being consumed vs being someone who consumes life.
And if you haven’t seen it yet, check out a video from Hollaback. It’s 10 hours of street harassment packed into less than two minutes.
Fall is synonymous with football. I love high school football best of all. What about you?
From Eva Cassidy, Autumn Leaves
The falling leaves
Drift by my window.
The falling leaves of red and gold.
I see your lips,
the summer kisses,
the sunburned hands I used to hold.
Since you went away
the days grow long
And soon I’ll hear old winter song
But I miss you most of all my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall…
Favorite Fall Movies
Another thing I love about fall is snuggling on the couch with my kiddos and a good movie. Juliette and I have three or four favorites we play over and over again throughout the season. Here they are: The Family Stone, Little Women, The Notebook, and The Secret of Roan Innish.
Happy Fall!
