Back in July, I threw a carnival birthday party for my daughter Bridgette. We rented a dunk tank and a miniature pony for the kids to paint. Bridgy loved it all, but the dunk tank would have probably been enough! I underestimated how much the kids were going to like it and the poor pony got a little lonely during the party.
♫ Don’t cry out loud, pony. Just keep it inside. Learn how to hide your feelings. ♫
My oldest daughter Juliette helped me set up a makeshift photo booth with an old quilt and a carnival sign I picked up at Hobby Lobby. The pictures turned out so good, my friend Erika agreed to let me post a couple of her and her daughter. Aren’t they adorable?
The photo booth props came from Hobby Lobby, too. Bridgy’s doing her best librarian impersonation.
Bridgy was getting tired of me taking her picture. This never happens. (Ha.) Juliette, I mustache you how you manage to be so photogenic.
I have absolutely zero cake skills, but these clown cupcakes were still a lot of fun to make.
I hope you enjoyed your carnival birthday party, Bridgette. You deserve much love and happiness in this life!
This is absolutely adorable! We have started celebrating my younger son’s half-birthday in July since he was born January 2nd. I’m going to have to remember the dunk tank idea. What a hit that would be!
