Dia Duit! (May God be with you!)
For a moment, take your mind off of the COVID19 and enjoy some St. Patrick’s Day photos from the 1970s and 80s. I had fun hunting these down and hope you like them. I hope they put a smile on your face during these challenging times.
Real quick, I also want to share with you a wonderful Irish song by Finbar Furey sung by proud Irish Traveller Sharyn Ward (☘️ fast-forward to 4.23 ☘️). I’ve been away from social media this Lenten Season, however, I could not resist jumping on today to send you this Irish blessing!
I also wanted to send a special note to everyone who has been using the prayer box lately on this blog. Today, I visited the statue of St. Patrick at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Oklahoma City. I asked for his intercession to Jesus. I carry your prayer requests in my heart and praying for you is one of the most astonishing gifts of my life. Thank you. I will be going to the Grotto this weekend with all your requests, as well as praying for you in the early light of morning as the coffee brews. Here is a prayer I received after midnight last night. I’ve copied it just as I received it. Please whisper a prayer for this dear soul. Her name begins with A.
I need a new life one I can control. Less pain hurt and crying days. freedom. happiness for a change and freedom from the evil people that kills my future. please I beg this prayer comes true it’s been too long.”
Again, I hope you enjoy these vintage St. Patrick’s Day pics. Please leave a comment or a note on Facebook about your favorite St. Patrick’s Day in memory.

When first I saw the love-light in your eye
I thought the world held naught but joy for me
And even though we drifted far apart
I never dream but what I dreamt of thee

I loved you as I’ve never loved before
Since first I saw you on the village green
Come to me ere my dream of love is o’er
I love you as I loved you, when you were sweet
When you were sweet sixteen

I loved you as I’ve never loved before
Since first I saw you on the village green
Come to me ere my dream of love is o’er
I love you as I loved you, when you were sweet
When you were sweet sixteen

Dia is Muire duit.
