This is a photo of Baton Twirling Instructor Annette Odello back during her twirling days in the early 1960s. Isn’t she a total joy? I love how happy she looks. Totally ready to lead the band.
Odello was once described by her multi-world championship student Annetta Lucero as a “brilliant soul disguised as a world-class trainer.” I can totally see it in this glorious and patriotic photo of drummer boys in satin shirts and Annette with her baton twirling medals and fringe. It’s a total slice of beautiful Americana.
