Jeanna would have been 54 today. Born in 1967, she died in December from complications of COVID.
I met Jeanna during my first days of college when I was just 17-years-old. We both lived on the 5th floor of Hatley Hall at Southern Nazarene University. She was a stunning beauty driving around campus in her 1985 black Chrysler LeBaron convertible. I have so many fond memories of her. She was stylish and friendly. She wore her hair in a perm and wore lots of pretty makeup. Her dorm room was totally decked out in hunter green carpet and bedspreads.
I’ve put together this tribute post to honor Jeanna. It features photos of her that I’ve transformed with the landscape feature on LunaPic. I love this photo effect on low-quality candid photos. It has a way of illuminating the important elements in a photo while reducing blur, clutter, and noise. In fact, it transforms the background clutter into something special. Also, when applied to a mishmash of photos it contributes to the overall quality of the photo essay. Typically, I prefer original photography and unedited photos. Some photo effects are ridiculously goofy, and one of my big pet peeves is people oversaturating photos taken during the Generation X childhood and teen years. Nevertheless, I wanted to bring together these photos of Jeanna in a way that made them look more like a collection.
Happy Birthday, sweet Jeanna. I will never, ever forget you or the semester we shared so long ago.
