You can’t know where you’re going
until you know where you’ve been.
This blog is devoted to exploring and understanding the lifelong journey of Generation X, the 13th generation of Americans born between 1961 and 1981.
When we understand our history — the things we collectively lived through — we can understand how we got where we are today. In time, you’ll see that you were never alone. You may even find gratitude for the most difficult events and unseemly characters in your life. For you survived when others did not. So many others did not.
In all things let us give thanks, for while it is faith that heals us it is gratitude that makes us whole.
Who knows only his own generation remains always a child. — Norlin
In contrast to the obscene click-bait and sponsored posts that have invaded the Blogosphere, we think this blog is an uncommon collection of commentaries and memoirs. Also, history, nostalgia, current events and more. Here are a few examples to see what we mean.
The Generation X Newsletter goes out the first Sunday of the month. It contains links to all the posts we published that month so you don’t miss anything. It also includes links to news articles and posts of interest to Gen-Xers including content about other generations including the Silent Generation, Baby Boomers, Millennials and Generation Z. We work hard to connect you with interesting and informative content. That’s why more than 4,000 people have subscribed We hope you’ll sign up, too.
