
Three Generations of Coal Miner Wives
I really enjoy sourcing generational content for this blog, and often come across photos I want to share. Sometimes, I don’t have much to say about these images, they seem to tell a story bigger than any commentary I could provide. So, from time to time, I’ll post some of the amazing things I find.
I really like the above picture, which I found via the U.S. National Archives (no known copyright). It was taken in October 1974 in Cumberland, Kentucky, and features three generations of coal miner wives: Greatest Generation; Silent Generation and Baby Boomer Generation. The baby is Generation X.
