Street Photography: Shades of Red

Shades of Red

I like things that are red like red berets and clown hair; red fire trucks and Firestone signs. Old monkey bars, a red devil and red cross and many other red things I’ve seen throughout my daily life in Oklahoma. Most of these images represent street photography, a candid form of photography that is not manipulated and aims to just capture life as it is unfolding.

Which image is your favorite? There are so many I’m fond of. I like the the woman with the sign trying to make everyone slow down. She stood there for a few days in freezing weather. The boy with the Adidas backpack didn’t want me to take his picture. The former soldier with the Army Republic South Vietnam was proud to have his taken. I love the Fruit Loops Donk car and the berries. They were growing on a fence in Arcadia, Oklahoma.

Pictures help me remember good times I’ve had with my Nikon. I go out into the world and I always expect to see something amazing. I especially like shades of red.

What is your favorite shade? I like fire truck red!

Red grabs my attention and I may be crazy but it seems to show up well when I use film instead of digital cameras. Great photographs. I appreciate the work it took to gather them up and make posts of out them.

I like the Blogger Lightbox feature because I like to scroll the photos in the post, but get that it makes the page long. Red is my absolute favorite color, I love its vibrance, I love its demanding nature!
