My mom came over to see me tonight and while she was here she told me she’d come across a pillow she’d made me of a sunbonnet Sue. It was 1979. It reminded me of the pillow below she made me one Valentine’s Day. It must have been around that same time give or take a year or two. The little envelope is the Valentine sealed with a kiss.
I rummaged through about 10 bins in the basement until I found it. I took the stuffing out years ago, but kept the pillow top. It has a dotted Swiss ruffle around it, which was fabric from a dress I had in 2nd grade.
Happy Valentine’s Day, Mom!
