Happy Mother’s Day, Mom
I can’t honestly say that I remember the day this picture was taken. We were living in Colorado Springs at the time. I think we’re at Garden of the Gods. That’s about all I know. But, I do remember that shirt I was wearing. It came from Montgomery Ward and I wore it with sky blue pants. And, I remember my mother’s headscarf, polyester top and that blue coat. She looked great in those white pants.
And I remember my father’s strong arms, always holding me back from the dangerous overlooks that dotted the landscapes of my childhood.
Happy Mother’s Day to my amazing mom! Her prayers and love have carried me for more than 40 years. I hope I win this contest from NerdWallet so I can take her on a trip to see the World’s Longest Yard Sale. It stretches 690 miles from Addison, Michigan to Gadsen, Alabama. The dates are August 1-4. Imagine all the stuff we can cram into the back of my jeep. Fun!
God bless you, Mom, and may God bless my own children who made me a mom three times over.
Thank you Jen– I love this post. If I recall, this photo was taken at a Castle in Colorado Springs. (I don’t remember the name) It was really windy that day.
Fond memories. Hugs–
