Styrofoam Greeting is a great Thanksgiving party idea!
Are you looking for a unique Thanksgiving party idea — a fun way to welcome your guests to your autumn table? These spray-painted Styrofoam cups stuck in a chain link fence spell Happy Thanksgiving. What a fun Thanksgiving craft idea for kids!
The super nice folks who did this live along the winding roads of Eastern Oklahoma County. It looks like they spray-painted the cups in place. They even spray-painted a few cups for the stem of the pumpkin. (See bottom picture, lower right corner.) Click to enlarge all images.
I love a good Thanksgiving party – not just a sit-down meal. This is something the whole family can enjoy. Gobble, Gobble!

The Mayflower set sail on September 6, 1620 — nearly 400 years ago! There were 102 Pilgrims on board including 30 children. They arrived in New England on November 11, 1620. Only 52 survived the first year in Plymouth. Read more at Who Were the Pilgrims?
11 Nations of America Book
There is an article in the Washington Post today about the 11 Nations of America. Turns out, there’s never been just one America. I really enjoyed studying these newly-fashioned borders. Oklahoma includes two nations, the Midlands and Great Appalachia. The book that details it all is American Nations: A History of the Eleven Rival Regional Cultures of North America. Excerpt:
“For generations, these Euro-American cultures developed in isolation from one another, consolidating their cherished religious and political principles and fundamental values, and expanding across the eastern half of the continent in nearly exclusive settlement bands.”
