I devoured books growing up, still read on my commute every day. I recently reproached my husband for reading from his laptop while watching a movie – I told him focus on one thing! If he wants noise while he reads listen to music. It is funny, while working on the computer I can hop back and forth between sites, but I can’t read and listen to music, or watch TV or a movie and look at my laptop or phone (except to look up an actor from time to time on IMDB). I prefer to be in the movie, to be in my book, or be in my music as a single pleasure. I wonder what distraction will do to the next generation…
