Pizza Quilt Play Date

Early last fall, my son Sullivan had a friend over for a play date and they each made a pizza quilt. Little sister Bridgy joined in with an original pizza happy face. Big sister Juliette joined me in eating it all. Ha!

Proud Pizza

There was something for everyone to do.

This was such an easy little adventure for the kids. I just covered our kitchen table with brown paper sacks (one of my favorite tricks) and laid out all the ingredients. I showed them a picture of a quilt pizza on Weelicious and they took it from there. The hardest part was simply going to the expense of buying all the fun ingredients.

Sully’s friend took his pizza home.

Here is the finished product. Yea! Although we did the pizza quilt as a kids play date, I think it’s a great teenage birthday party idea!

Pizza Quilt Directions and Shopping List

For the pizza dough, I bought Fleishchmann’s Pizza Crust yeast and followed the directions. I prepared all the ingredients before the play date including browning the sausage and chopping all the vegetables.

I spread the dough out on cookies sheets and the kids spooned and spread Ragu on top of it. They made individual “quilt” squares out of the following ingredients.

Black Olives

Broccoli

Green Peppers

Pepperoni

Turkey Sausage

Pineapple

Corn

Yellow Bell Peppers

Cherry Tomatoes

Red Onions

Mushrooms

Ragu

Mozzarella Cheese

You can also put spinach leaves, green onions and bacon on your pizza quilt!

Great idea! I bet the kids try a few new veggies after using them for their color!

This is such a fun project! I LOVE the landscape! We were much of pizza eaters growing up more of a burger family – definitely not as fun!

Why should kids have all the fun?! I’d love to do this.

I love making homemade pizzas for dinner, and we usually make pizzas every week. I use the individual crusts so everyone gets to create their own pie and nobody else says “eww” when I put spinach on mine. 🙂
