This picture of two first-wave Gen-Xers was taken in 1969 in Mt. Upton, New York. I chose it for the Daily Gen X Photo because high quality winter photos from this era are hard to come by and I can almost guarantee you that one featuring a snow mobile is extremely rare.
Mount Upton is a hamlet on the Unadilla River in the town of Guilford in Chenango County, New York. The photo comes from a the Mt. Upton WordPress blog. The site was developed as an “informational site to impact all viewers by giving them a dynamic and interactive vivid picture of Mt. Upton’s history.”
The site chronicles the town’s history and features dozens of scanned images of yearbooks from the 1930s through the 1980s.
Here are a few more special photos from the site.
