When Mandy Dressed Up As Pat Benatar for Halloween

Reblogged from Mama Mandy

I came across this short Halloween post from Mama Mandy, and decided to reblog it through the WordPress.com option. Isn’t this a great photo? I love the contrast between the Depression-era school building and the 1980s costumes.

I Was A Child Of The Night

Being the Projecting Sue that I am, it’s March 31, and I’m thinking about Ian’s Halloween costume. And I don’t even like Halloween. This reminded me of a funny story.

When I was six, I told my mom I wanted to be Pat Benatar for Halloween. Specifically, I wanted to be Pat Benatar circa Love Is A Battlefield.

I’m pretty sure my mom thought I was a “punk” rather than a prostitute.

The mom in the trench coat knows what’s up.

You were the coolest mom. Still are. I wonder what Ian will ask to be?

Hi Jennifer, I ready your blog post from last Halloween while trying to get ideas for my costume this year – wanted to do something retro. Do you have any other photos of people in costume for 80s rockers?
