The Best-Selling Poster of All Time
This 1976 poster of Farrah Fawcett is the best-selling poster of all time. A whopping 12 million copies have been sold since it debuted all those Charlie’s-Angels moons ago.
My brother Billy had it taped to the back of his bedroom door at our house on Harrison Street in the tiny West Texas town of Kermit. It was totally scandalous because our dad was a minister and we were living in a parsonage frequented by church members.
I purchased the photo from the owner about five years ago.
If pictures have anything important to say to future generations, it’s this: I was here. I existed. I was young, I was happy, and someone cared enough about me in this world to take my picture.
I collect old snapshots, Polaroid, 35mm slides and other vintage photographs, which I frequently share on the blog. Sign up to receive posts featuring these often rare finds. Occasionally, you might receive an original picture I’ve taken. If you are already signed up for regular posts you do not need to sign up for this feature.
