Blue Donuts for the OKC Thunder

After a powerful storm on Tuesday, a more significant episode of severe weather is expected later this month across the south-central plains.

A storm system emerging from the Western Conference Finals was the trigger for some upcoming weather, clashing with warm and unstable air from Miami.

Powerful and twisting winds aloft will help prime the environment to become capable of spawning next generation NBA led by OKC.
OKC Thunder Basketball Dreams
Ha! Ha! That was fun to write!

The above picture is a basketball goal in an inner-city neighborhood in Oklahoma City. It declares the OKC Thunder and Kevin Durant (number 35) as #1. I took this on December 17, eight days before the start of the 2011-12 NBA Season. The OKC Thunder have made it all the way to the NBA Finals!

OKC Thunder Logo

For readers outside of Oklahoma City who may have never seen it before, this is the OKC Thunder logo. Look for this to whoop up on the Celtics or the Heat very soon! I hope it’s the Heat so me and all my Okie friends can make funny jokes about clashing weather systems and how thunder and heat don’t mix. It’s going to be tornadic!

Thunder Logo Wear

Someone was telling me the other day that OKC Thunder T-shirts and other Thunder merchandise are among the best-selling in the NBA. I’m seeing a lot of knock-offs sprouting up in parking lots across OKC. The Thunder logo is definitely hot!

One of Bridgy’s favorite T-shirts is this one from the Thunder store in Leadership Square in Downtown Oklahoma City.

Blue Donuts

This morning, Sullivan and I headed out for our usual Saturday morning donut run (don’t judge), and look what we discovered at the Dunkin Donuts on May Avenue: Thunder Donuts. They give a whole new meaning to the word dunkin’.

Boy holding box of OKC Thunder Blue Donuts
The lady behind the counter told me the blue donuts were in honor of the OKC Thunder going to the NBA Finals. We love you, blue donuts. Two points!

OKC Thunder Blue Donuts
I was just walking along with my camera and discovered Rob and the little ones standing in front of the jeep holding a basketball and eating Thunder blue donuts. Not at all posed. Believe it, friends. (We’re saving one for you, Juey with a J.)
Birth of Venus Chalk Art with OKC Thunder Jersey
This is a picture I took Friday night at Live on the Plaza in Oklahoma City. It’s a chalk art drawing by Bobby Marsee that’s done with pastels. It’s the Birth of Venus wearing an OKC Thunder T-shirt.

Love your Thunderpost featuring the ThunderDonuts and the ThunderFamily standing in front of the the ThunderJeep.

I’m a big Thunder fan, have been since last week! Not bought any Thunder logo stuff yet, I’m holding out for NBA Championship logo stuff. If they lose, then everything will be on sale.
