My sophomore year of high school, Izods, Polos and 501 jeans made their way inward and in droves from the coasts to my rural Kansas high school. A large part of what solidified this style was the mega-hit book from a few years earlier, The Official Preppy Handbook, by Lisa Birnbach, which was released in 1980.
The former prep school girl has done it again (along with co-writer Chip Kidd). Together, they revisit prepdome with True Prep: It’s a Whole New Old World, which was released in April 2010.
