It was such a long winter. One that began on March 13, 2020, and ended just the other day. I spent two springs, a summer, fall, and winter basically indoors. I wonder if I look younger than I would have had there not been a pandemic. I’ve missed the sun.
Here are some beautiful pictures of first-wave Gen-Xers taken during the winter of 1980. They were taken on a beach near Plainville, Massachusetts. God bless Bruce Fasulo for having the mind to capture our generation as few did. His pictures, many of which I have shared over the years, are a rare Gen-X archive. Study the picture. What do you see? Lots of children in puffy parkas and colorful ski jackets. A few are toting 110 cameras and wearing snow boots. No adults. Join the conversation about the pictures on Facebook.

Lettermen jacket, astronaut shirt, classic early 80s snow boots,

I’m in love with all their boots and winter coats and sweaters. Definitely Massachusetts, early 1980s.

Es tan diferente todo ahora. No hay niños, no se les oye, no se les ve; ¿no se les necesita? Hay algo realmente malo en una sociedad que no tiene niños.
Very true, Javier. =(
Translated comment (via Google Translate) Everything is so different now. There are no children, they are not heard, they are not seen; Aren’t they needed? There is something really wrong in a society that does not have children.
